How the 4NBT sticker map handles your data

4NBT.MEDIA is a public art project. Its sticker map lets people place a pin — optionally with a photo — at a real-world spot. This page explains, in plain terms, what that involves. It is written to be honest, not exhaustive legal text.

What the map collects

Photos you choose to upload — the shot attached to a pin you place, or a "finder" shot you add to someone else's pin. These are shown publicly on the map.
The location you choose to publish — when you drop a pin, its coordinates are stored and displayed publicly at full precision so the pin lands in the right spot. Placing a pin makes that location public. Only pin what you are comfortable making public — do not pin a private home (yours or anyone else's) or anything you would not want shared.
A functional cookie (4nbt_anon) — a random, anonymous id stored in your browser for about a year. It carries no name or personal detail; its only job is to remember that you placed a given pin, so only you can add its photo, name it once, or remove it. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Your IP address — seen by our servers and by Cloudflare (our security/CDN layer) to prevent abuse and spam. We do not store your raw IP in the sticker data, and our pin/photo logs deliberately exclude coordinates and your anonymous id.

What we do NOT do

We strip camera metadata (including any embedded GPS/EXIF) from every photo before it is stored — the only location published is the pin coordinate you chose, not a hidden one baked into your photo.
No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics cookies, no selling of personal data.

How your data is used

Pins, photos and coordinates are displayed publicly on the map and may appear in link-preview ("share") cards when a page is shared. Photos and pins persist until you remove them or we remove them.

Your choices & your rights

Remove your own pin — open your pin on the map and use REMOVE THIS PIN. This permanently deletes the pin, its photo, and its coordinates. (This works from the same browser that placed it, because that browser holds the 4nbt_anon id.)
If you cleared your cookies or are on a different device, or need a pin removed that someone else placed (for example, one that shows your home or your face), contact us (below) and we will take it down.
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access or erase personal data (e.g. GDPR, CCPA). Contact us to exercise them.

Age

This project is intended for people 13 and older. Please do not upload identifiable photos of children, or of other people, without their consent.
